Athy Sing and Sign Club produce a free booklet to coincide with our ISL Festival each year. Each booklet features basic ISL signs, demonstrated by our members in cartoon form!

2025 ISL Booklet

Our 2025 booklet features our members demonstrating ISL signs related to the newly developed Emily Square in Athy. There’s a special page on business vocabulary, with illustrations of some of the local businesses. And as we were delighted to be nominated for an award this year, we’ve included signs for award-related words. We’ve also made a page devoted to farm animal ISL signs.

2024 ISL Booklet

Our 2024 Booklet features illustrations of our members demonstrating ISL signs related to Athy Community Arts Center, neurodiversity, festivals, makeup, and museums. And our highlights page shows a recap of our activities from the past year.

Our 2023 Booklet features ISL signs related to The Clanard Court Hotel Athy, and its resident herd of alpacas! Signs are all demonstrated by our members in cartoon form. In this booklet we also show the signs for popular social media sites, and because Athy Sing and Sign were chosen at an audition to perform at Disneyland Paris in 2024, we have included a page of Disneyland ISL signs. Our club was involved this past year in the creation of a local mural in Athy, which features a butterfly, a symbol of the Deaf Community. The mural and related signs are included in the booklet.

Our 2022 Booklet features Athy Youth Cafe and skate park as the center image, with related signs. Our ISL Festival this year featured a chess afternoon and an evening learning about St Brigid, both of which have a page in the booklet. Our members in cartoon form also demonstrate he signs related to waterways and to wellbeing.

Our 2021 Booklet features St Vincent’s Hospital Athy as the main illustration on the middle pages. This year’s booklet has our members (in cartoon form) demonstrating the ISL signs for The Emergency Services, Medical Signs, the Continents, and signs related to Climate Change.

Our 2020 Booklet features signs for the Counties & Provinces of Ireland, Sports, and a page dedicated to the Achievements of Women. Our center page is a cartoon of Athy Railway Station with signs related to trains and travel. All signs demonstrated by our members, in cartoon format!

2017. Our first ISL Booklet featured signs for food, greetings, weather, days of the week, and numbers. the center page was a cartoon of Athy featuring some of the prominent landmarks.

2018. Our ISL Booklet featured signs for Sports, Special Occasions such as Halloween, and colours. The center page was a drawing of Athy Library, with signs related to books.

2019. As well as continuing with our series of signs for Numbers, our 2019 Booklet featured signs for Materials, Months, Outer Space, and Times of the day. The center page this year was the town square in Athy.
